India’s 52-run win over South Africa in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai has been hailed as a watershed moment for Indian cricket. President Droupadi Murmu lauded the team’s triumph on X, calling it a “watershed moment for women’s cricket,” while PM Narendra Modi praised their “exceptional teamwork, tenacity, and confidence.” Both leaders expressed pride in how the Women in Blue have inspired a new generation of athletes, with this win marking a defining chapter in Indian sporting history.
