Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, recently traded to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) from Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, penned a heartfelt farewell to the franchise he led with pride for nearly a decade. Samson’s departure marks the end of an emotional chapter for both him and RR fans, who have seen him grow from a promising youngster to one of the IPL’s most composed performers.

“We are only here for a short period of time. Gave my everything to this franchise, enjoyed some great cricket, made some lifetime relations, and treated everyone in the franchise as my family. And when it’s time… I am moving on. Shall always be grateful for everything @rajasthanroyals,” Samson shared on Instagram, encapsulating a decade of memories, loyalty, and leadership.

With 177 IPL matches to his name, Samson’s experience is invaluable. Starting his IPL journey in 2013, the Kerala cricketer has spent most of his career with the Royals, besides short stints with Delhi Capitals. After waiting eight seasons, Samson finally met Dhoni post a Player of the Match performance – a moment he cherishes as a milestone in his cricketing journey, calling it “a dream fulfilled.”
