Star India batter Virat Kohli is scripting yet another golden chapter in his illustrious career, looking arguably in the best form since his remarkable 2016–17 run. His no-look six off Corbin Bosch in the third ODI at Visakhapatnam was a reminder that even at 37, Kohli continues to redefine batting mastery.

After hammering back-to-back centuries in Ranchi and Raipur, the veteran carried his momentum into the final ODI, unleashing a series of authoritative strokes that left South Africa helpless. The highlight came on the last ball of the 34th over. Kohli leaned into a full delivery, got on the front foot, and launched it over wide long-on without even glancing at the ball.

Instead, he held his pose and stared at Bosch, who could only smile in disbelief. Even Quinton de Kock behind the stumps was left grinning at the audacity of the shot—proof of the sheer command Kohli had over the game.

India wrapped up the match clinically, winning by nine wickets to seal the series 2–1. Kohli remained unbeaten on 65 off 45 balls, while Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed a brilliant 116*. Rohit Sharma, too, showed vintage touch earlier in the series with a fluent 75. Together, the trio orchestrated a dominant chase of 271 with more than 10 overs to spare.

For the hosts, this performance was a refreshing comeback after a tough Test series, and it effectively silenced discussions around Kohli and Rohit’s future. Both seniors once again proved that they remain crucial for India’s plans heading toward the 2027 ODI World Cup.
With this series, Kohli also became only the second Indian after Shubman Gill to cross 300 runs in a three-match ODI series, surpassing his previous best of 283—yet another milestone in a career filled with them.
