Former all-rounder Dwayne Bravo recalled a fascinating moment involving batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar from the inaugural season in 2008 as well. Bravo started his IPL journey with the Mumbai Indians (MI), representing the franchise for three seasons from 2008 to 2010 as well.

Bravo appeared on the YouTube podcast ‘Beard Before Wicket,’ released on January 4, where he recalled:  “I remember one morning, Sachin came downstairs for breakfast in the hotel, and he picked up an apple. When he bought that apple, I was like, wow, Sachin Tendulkar eating an apple. It made me want to eat an apple too. When you idolize someone, there are certain things that are hard to envision them doing, but then, when you see it, you realize it’s normal. That gave me the confidence to just be myself.”

However, Dwayne Bravo also recalled receiving a signed bat from Sachin Tendulkar during his time with MI as well.

“I remember one season he gave me one of his bats because he appreciated the way I played the game. It wasn’t about how I performed or anything, but about the heart and love for the game. He signed the bat for me, and I still have it at home. Yeah, it was a great, great experience. Very quiet. No, very few words, soft-spoken. Just what they see is obvious,” Dwyane Bravo concluded.
