Bumrah made his international debut against Australia in Sydney in January 2016, finishing with figures of 2/40 in his 10 overs and claiming Steve Smith as his maiden wicket. Back then, his unconventional bowling action drew scepticism, with several critics questioning whether it would stand the test of elite cricket. Ten years on, those doubts have been silenced emphatically.

To mark the anniversary, Bumrah shared a video montage tracing his journey from a raw debutant to a global superstar, featuring iconic moments such as his first wicket and India’s triumphant 2024 T20 World Cup campaign, during which he was named Player of the Tournament.

His dominance in SENA conditions stands out, with 11 five-fors in South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia, making him India’s most successful overseas pacer.

One of Bumrah’s finest red-ball performances came during India’s tour of Australia, where he picked up 32 wickets and earned the Player of the Series award. He has also achieved the No. 1 ranking in ICC Test bowling, a historic feat for an Indian fast bowler.
