India captain Suryakumar Yadav made a significant leap in the latest ICC men’s T20I rankings, climbing five places to seventh following his impressive run in the ongoing five-match home series against New Zealand. With India racing to a 3–0 lead in the series, Suryakumar’s timely return to form has strengthened the team’s momentum just days ahead of the T20 World Cup.

The Indian skipper registered scores of 32, an unbeaten 82, and an unbeaten 57 in the series so far, performances that underlined his growing influence in the middle order. India’s dominance at the top of the T20I batting rankings has been further highlighted by Abhishek Sharma holding on to the No.1 spot, while Tilak Varma continues to impress at third place, reflecting the depth and firepower in India’s batting line-up.
Several other Indian batters have also risen in the rankings. Ishan Kishan, after his blistering 76 off just 32 balls in Raipur, has re-entered the rankings at 64th. Shivam Dube jumped nine places to 58th, while Rinku Singh surged 13 spots to 68th, rewarding India’s aggressive approach in the shortest format.

Outside India, Afghanistan batters made notable gains after their 2–1 T20I series victory over the West Indies in Dubai. Openers Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz moved up to 13th and 15th, respectively, while Player of the Series Darwish Rasooli climbed a massive 29 places to 87th after scoring 156 runs.

South Africa captain Aiden Markram’s fluent 86 not out against the West Indies lifted him into the top 20, while Brandon King and Glenn Phillips also made healthy progress for the West Indies and New Zealand, respectively.

In the bowling rankings, Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman broke into the top 10 after his four-wicket haul against the West Indies. India’s Jasprit Bumrah rose to 13th, while Ravi Bishnoi climbed to 19th, underlining India’s bowling strength ahead of the global event. Hardik Pandya also enjoyed an all-round boost, rising in the bowling, batting and all-rounders’ charts.
Meanwhile, England stars Harry Brook and Joe Root made strong gains in the ODI rankings following their series win in Sri Lanka, with Adil Rashid and Dunith Wellalage shining among bowlers.
