IPL for years has been known for spot-fixing issues.The biggest issue being the Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals banned for two years due to spot-fixing issues. Though the matter has been made illegal still there is every day some news about the game is not clean.
The Rajasthan police have tracked down and arrested five people who were involved in betting action during this year’s games. The police have arrested this five people from the city of Sikar that is located in Rajasthan. Police have also seized 17 mobile phones and laptops and other possessions of the victims.
“We had received information about bets on IPL matches following which we carried out the investigation and arrested five people in connection. We also recovered the calculations of their bets. The bets carried out today amounted to over Rs 18 lakhs while the older ones were near to Rs 80 lakhs,” said Uday Singh, Fatehpur Thana Kotwali police station in-charge to cricketcountry.com.
Punters J. Chandrashekar and A. Chandra Mohan are the names who were in team betting during Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad. The bookie named Vasu is still to be arrested.
Rajasthan Royals didn’t start their camp well as they suffered in the first game under jaws of defeat from Sunrisers Hyderabad. They could only score a total of 125 runs on board. But in the last game with Delhi Daredevils, they performed well and clinched two points away from the opposition.
Till date, each game in IPL is going neck to neck and giving the fans chills. Chennai Super Kings is the only team to date to have won both their matches. With more days coming and the league shifting to later half, the fans are sure to experience a roller coaster ride.Though many of the teams are missing out their key players due to injury like Mitchell Santner, Pat Cummins, Suresh Raina etc. The team officials are finding it hard to make right replacement choices.
