Team India pacer Arshdeep Singh added a dash of humour to India’s emphatic 93-run win over Namibia in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, winning hearts with a light-hearted gesture towards teammate Mohammed Siraj. After India bowled Namibia out for 116 while defending a daunting 210 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Arshdeep cheekily touched Siraj’s feet back at the team hotel, acknowledging the difficulty of pulling off Siraj’s trademark celebration.

Earlier in the match, Arshdeep mimicked football icon Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous ‘Siu’ celebration after dismissing Namibia opener Jan Frylinck. The celebration is usually Siraj’s signature move, and when teammate Axar Patel teased Arshdeep about borrowing it, the left-arm seamer laughed it off, admitting his knees “almost gave way” after the jump.

The playful moment reflected the relaxed mood in the Indian camp after another dominant performance. On the field, Arshdeep delivered when it mattered. He provided India with an early breakthrough by removing Frylinck with a well-disguised slower ball in the fourth over.

With Jasprit Bumrah returning to the XI after illness, Siraj sat out, but the bowling unit remained relentless. India’s 93-run win went down as their biggest margin of victory by runs in T20 World Cup history, underlining their strong start to the tournament.

Arshdeep also entertained fans during Namibia’s chase with impromptu dance moves near the boundary, a clip that quickly went viral on social media. Beyond the fun, his numbers stack up nicely: three wickets from two games at an economy rate of 7.73 so far. India now carry momentum into their blockbuster clash against Pakistan at the R. Premadasa Stadium on February 15, with Arshdeep’s confidence and rhythm adding to the buzz around the high-voltage encounter.
