India captain Suryakumar Yadav produced a moment of brilliance in the field to dismiss Roston Chase during the high-pressure Super 8 clash of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Eden Gardens. Bumrah cleverly bowled a slower delivery well outside the off stump, tempting Chase to go after it. The West Indies batter attempted a lofted shot but failed to time it cleanly, chipping the ball high towards extra cover. Positioned inside the circle, Suryakumar reacted instantly. He sprinted quickly to his right and completed a stunning running catch, sending Chase back to the pavilion and electrifying the Eden Gardens crowd.

The dismissal also marked a significant personal milestone for Bumrah, as the wicket became his 499th in international cricket.

Roston Chase had looked dangerous during his stay at the crease. After surviving an early dropped chance, the right-hander built momentum and played aggressively, scoring 40 runs from just 25 balls. His innings included several crisp boundaries and helped the West Indies cricket team maintain a healthy scoring rate in the middle overs.

Earlier in the innings, India had already struck an important blow when mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy dismissed West Indies captain Shai Hope. Hope struggled to accelerate and was eventually bowled for 32 off 33 balls after Chakravarthy’s skiddy delivery sneaked under his bat.
