Arjun Tendulkar wasted little time returning to cricket after one of the biggest moments of his personal life. Just a day after tying the knot with Saaniya Chandhok, the young all-rounder was back on the field competing in the DY Patil T20 Cup in Mumbai. The son of legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar got married on Thursday in a star-studded ceremony attended by several prominent figures from cricket, business and entertainment.

However, the celebrations didn’t keep him away from professional commitments for long. On Friday, Arjun turned up for DY Patil Blue in the tournament’s semi-final against Mumbai Customs. It turned out to be a difficult outing for the left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder. With the ball, Arjun conceded 20 runs in his only over, struggling to find rhythm in a high-pressure knockout clash.

His contribution with the bat was also limited, as he scored 9 runs from 14 deliveries while trying to stabilise the innings. DY Patil Blue eventually went down to Mumbai Customs by five wickets, ending their campaign in the tournament.

Despite the setback, Arjun’s focus will quickly shift to the upcoming Indian Premier League season. The 2026 edition will see him representing the Lucknow Super Giants after the franchise secured his services in a trade deal with the Mumbai Indians. The move marks an important phase in his career as he looks to establish himself at the highest level of T20 cricket.

Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar shared a heartfelt message on social media thanking fans and well-wishers for their blessings following the wedding celebrations.

“As Arjun and Saaniya begin this new chapter together, we feel incredibly grateful for the love and blessings pouring in from everyone,” Sachin Tendulkar wrote.

Saaniya comes from a prominent business family and is the granddaughter of Mumbai-based businessman Ravi Ghai. She graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a degree in Business Management and is also a certified veterinary technician. The wedding ceremony saw the presence of several cricket legends including MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir, along with Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.
