India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan delivered an emotional performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 final, dedicating the historic victory to his late cousin sister who tragically passed away just a day before the title clash. India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday to lift their third T20 World Cup trophy, but for Kishan, the triumph carried deep personal meaning.

The left-handed batter played a crucial role in the final, scoring a composed 54 runs that helped India post a commanding total. According to Kishan, the biggest lesson he learned during the break was to stop overthinking and trust his natural ability. He explained that skills do not disappear overnight; what truly matters is the hunger to perform and staying focused on the present. Kishan added that observing Kohli’s long-standing dedication to the game inspired him to focus on self-improvement rather than worrying about selection or external expectations.
