The latest update in the ICC T20I rankings has brought significant gains for Ishan Kishan after his impressive performances during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter climbed two places on March 11 to become the world’s No. 2 T20I batter, further underlining his growing influence in the shortest format.

The 27-year-old, who represents Jharkhand in domestic cricket, played key roles in India’s knockout matches. In the semifinal against the England cricket team, Kishan delivered a brisk 39 off just 18 balls, providing early momentum to the India national cricket team in a high-pressure clash. He followed it up with another impactful performance in the final against the New Zealand national cricket team, smashing a 25-ball 54 that helped India take control of the title decider.
Thanks to those crucial contributions, Kishan now holds 871 rating points—just four behind current world No. 1 T20I batter Abhishek Sharma, who sits at 875 points.

Meanwhile, New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert jumped four places to move up to No. 6 after scoring half-centuries in both the semifinal and the final.
Seifert’s opening partner Finn Allen also enjoyed a major rise. The aggressive Kiwi batter blasted a stunning 33-ball century against the South Africa national cricket team in the first semifinal, which helped him climb seven spots to reach 20th place in the rankings. England’s young left-hander Jacob Bethell was another big mover. His brilliant 105-run knock against India in the semifinal saw him jump 17 positions to claim the No. 16 spot among T20I batters.
