Ishant Sharma had his share of imbalances in last night’s match against Mumbai Indians in Mumbai. It seemed that the 28-year old right-arm fast bowler had taken the pressure of the whole team on himself.
Thrice in the second innings, the tall lanky bowler fell down in his follow-through. Sharma should consider himself really fortunate for he did not cause any injury to himself following his series of falls.
Mumbai Indians’ wicket-keeper batsman, Parthiv Patel, showed some concern when Sharma fell for the first time. By the third time, captain of Kings XI Punjab, Glenn Maxwell, was all at smiles after watching his senior-most bowler losing his balance frequently. Virender Sehwag was also enjoying the moment from the dugout. He too, found the lucky side of the incident.
Matthew Hayden, who was commentating when Sharma fell for the third time, called him ‘A newly born giraffe’, who struggles to walk on both his feet. Citing the fun part of the moment, the giant screen in the Wankhede stadium displayed ‘Udta Punjab’. Watch the video of Sharma’s fall and rise in the last match:
