Chennai Super Kings found a crucial breakthrough at a key moment, thanks to the experience of Matt Henry, who dismissed Priyansh Arya during their high-scoring clash against Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Punjab Kings surprised many by promoting Arya as an Impact Player at the top of the order instead of sticking with Cooper Connolly alongside Prabhsimran Singh.

The move paid immediate dividends, as Arya launched a stunning counterattack. The youngster smashed 39 runs off just 11 balls, peppering the boundary with three fours and four sixes, putting CSK bowlers under immense pressure early in the chase.

At one stage, Arya looked unstoppable, dictating terms with fearless strokeplay. However, Henry stepped up when it mattered most. Bowling a sharp back-of-the-length delivery, the Kiwi pacer got the ball to seam away slightly. Arya went for an expansive shot but missed completely, as the ball crashed into the off stump, sending it cartwheeling. The dismissal sparked celebrations, with Henry roaring in relief as CSK grabbed a much-needed wicket.

Earlier in the match, Chennai Super Kings had posted an imposing 209 on the board. The innings was powered by explosive contributions from Ayush Mhatre, Sarfaraz Khan, and Shivam Dube. Despite the early loss of Sanju Samson, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad ensured stability in the middle overs, building a solid platform with Mhatre.

Chasing a daunting total, Punjab Kings needed a flying start—and Arya delivered just that. His aggressive approach propelled PBKS to 61 runs in just 4.2 overs, shifting early momentum in their favour. Even Henry, who eventually dismissed him, was taken apart during that phase.

However, that one breakthrough significantly altered the flow of the game. With Arya back in the pavilion, the contest opened up once again, leaving both teams with a realistic chance of pushing for victory in what turned into a gripping encounter in Chennai.
