Despite losing two quick wickets, veteran batsman Rohit Sharma and stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav showcased a sensible batting display. Rohit was dismissed on 35 runs in 26 balls, including five boundaries and a maximum. Suryakumar and Sherfane Rutherford are unbeaten at the crease. Suryakumar has reached 27 runs in 19 balls, with the help of two boundaries and a maximum, whereas Sherfane has faced just two balls and scored one run.

DC’s Mukesh Kumar has managed to pick up two wickets by conceding 12 runs in two overs. Skipper Axar Patel also bagged one wicket for 16 runs in three overs. Lungi Ngidi, Vipraj Nigam and Kuldeep Yadav are yet to claim their first wickets.

Having bowled two overs, Ngidi was smashed for 19 runs, and Vipraj also leaked 18 runs. Kuldeep has also conceded eight runs in one over.

Earlier, DC skipper Axar won the toss and elected to bowl first against MI at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The “Paltan” suffered a huge blow as their regular skipper, Hardik Pandya, will miss the contest as he is not feeling well. In his absence, Suryakumar Yadav is leading MI.

MI entered the clash with three changes. Mitchell Santner came in place of AM Ghazanfar, Corbin Bosch also replaced Trent Boult, and Deepak Chahar will take the field in place of Hardik. It will be interesting to see which team manage to keep their winning momentum.
