Gujarat Titans finally found a breakthrough at a crucial juncture as Kagiso Rabada produced a peach of a delivery to dismiss Yashasvi Jaiswal during their IPL 2026 clash against Rajasthan Royals. The wicket came on the third ball of the 13th over and provided GT with a much-needed opening after a strong start from the Royals.

Jaiswal, who looked in sublime touch, had just struck Rabada for a boundary on the previous delivery, continuing his aggressive approach. However, the South African pacer responded in style. Bowling a sharp, seam-up delivery at over 140 kph, Rabada exploited the batter’s intent perfectly.

Yashasvi Jaiswal attempted to create room once again to go big on the off side, but this time he was completely beaten by pace and precision. The ball sneaked through the gap between bat and pad, crashing into the off stump in emphatic fashion.

The left-hander departed after a well-compiled 55 off 36 balls, an innings that included six boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of over 150. His knock had anchored Rajasthan’s innings and kept the scoreboard ticking at a brisk pace.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals had made full use of the powerplay, with Jaiswal and young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi adding 70 runs for the opening wicket. Sooryavanshi continued his impressive run, scoring a quickfire 31 off just 18 balls before being dismissed by Rashid Khan.

Despite losing his partner, Jaiswal maintained control and brought up a fluent half-century, guiding the innings alongside Dhruv Jurel. The Royals looked well on track for a total in excess of 200, keeping the pressure firmly on Gujarat’s bowling attack.

GT were already dealing with the absence of their regular skipper Shubman Gill, with Rashid Khan stepping in as stand-in captain. Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj, who had earlier suffered a minor injury scare, returned to bowl but appeared slightly off his rhythm. While Rajasthan held the upper hand for most of the innings, Rabada’s strike ensured Gujarat Titans stayed in the contest, with plenty still to play for heading into the second innings.
