Tim David delivered one of the standout moments of IPL 2026 with a breathtaking cameo at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, powering Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a dominant total against Chennai Super Kings. In a night dominated by aggressive strokeplay, David, alongside Devdutt Padikkal and skipper Rajat Patidar, dismantled the CSK bowling attack with authority.

After Padikkal notched up his second consecutive fifty of the season, David and Patidar took charge, stitching together a crucial 99-run partnership for the fourth wicket. The highlight of the innings came in the penultimate over when David smashed a short ball from Jamie Overton high over deep square leg. The ball sailed over the stadium roof and landed outside, triggering wild celebrations among fans.

David added flair to the moment by mimicking the umpire’s six signal before cheekily waving goodbye to the ball. The incident quickly went viral, with fans outside the stadium scrambling to retrieve the ball and celebrate the rare souvenir.

Their late assault powered RCB to 250/3, their highest-ever IPL total against CSK and a near-perfect batting display under pressure.

In response, CSK once again faltered with the bat. Early wickets derailed their chase as Ruturaj Gaikwad and others fell cheaply, leaving the side struggling at 30/3. The damage was done in the powerplay, with Jacob Duffy striking key blows, while Padikkal impressed in the field with sharp catches.

Sarfaraz Khan offered brief resistance with a quickfire half-century, but the steep target proved too much. Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar ensured there was no late comeback, wrapping up the innings at 207 and sealing another comprehensive win for RCB.
