Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has credited his growing on-field chemistry with teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi as a key factor behind the team’s explosive starts in IPL 2026. The left-hander highlighted their clear communication, shared intent, and fearless approach as the driving forces behind their successful opening partnership.

Jaiswal emphasised that batting alongside Suryavanshi has been an enjoyable and productive experience, with both players focused on reading match situations and maximising the powerplay.
“It’s amazing to bat with Vaibhav. We both enjoy playing our shots and keep things positive in the middle. We constantly talk about what the team needs and how we can provide the best start. Having played for a few years now, I try to adapt to situations and contribute accordingly,” Yashasvi Jaiswal said after the match.

He also spoke about the youngster’s fearless approach, especially his audacious first-ball six against Jasprit Bumrah, one of the most respected fast bowlers in world cricket.
“When he hit Bumrah for a six on the first ball, I just told him to keep playing his shots. If someone can take on a bowler like Bumrah, it’s incredible. It also takes pressure off me and allows me to plan my innings better,” he added.

The duo once again delivered in the Rajasthan Royals’ rain-shortened clash against the Mumbai Indians. Jaiswal anchored the innings with an unbeaten 77 off 32 balls, while Suryavanshi’s blistering 39 off just 14 deliveries set the tone early. Their aggressive partnership powered RR to a formidable 150/3 in just 11 overs.

In response, the Mumbai Indians never found momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals. Nandre Burger, Sandeep Sharma, and Ravi Bishnoi led a disciplined bowling effort, picking up two wickets each to restrict MI to 123/9.
With three consecutive wins, Rajasthan Royals sit comfortably at the top of the points table under Riyan Parag’s leadership. Mumbai Indians, meanwhile, continue to struggle for consistency, slipping to seventh place after their latest defeat.
