Delhi Capitals found a crucial surge in momentum during their IPL 2026 clash against Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, thanks to a game-changing over that could well define the outcome. Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka took charge in the sixth over of the chase, dismantling young pacer Ashok Sharma with a flurry of boundaries.

The over began routinely with KL Rahul collecting a boundary and rotating the strike. But once Nissanka took control, the contest shifted dramatically. The right-hander smashed 23 runs in the over, including a towering six and three crisp boundaries, injecting serious momentum into Delhi’s run chase and putting Gujarat under pressure.

Earlier, Gujarat Titans posted a formidable 210/4 after being asked to bat first by Delhi skipper Axar Patel. Mukesh Kumar provided an early breakthrough by dismissing Sai Sudharsan, but GT quickly recovered. Jos Buttler led the charge with a blistering 52 off 27 balls before Shubman Gill anchored the innings with a composed 70 off 45 deliveries, showcasing both class and control.

Washington Sundar added further impetus with a well-compiled 55 off 32 balls, ensuring GT crossed the 200-run mark comfortably.
