The clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 23 of IPL 2026 took a concerning turn when LSG skipper Rishabh Pant suffered an injury scare mid-innings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. After RCB opted to field first, the early momentum tilted heavily in their favour — and Pant’s unfortunate exit only added to LSG’s troubles.
Pant was struck painfully on the elbow by a sharp delivery from Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood, forcing him to retire hurt and walk off the field. Clearly frustrated, the LSG captain looked disappointed as he made his way back to the dugout, with Hazlewood showing sportsmanship by checking on him.
