Gujarat Titans endured a batting collapse against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, as their chase of 200 quickly unravelled under pressure. Amid the chaos, Washington Sundar showed some resistance, playing a steady hand in the middle order. The all-rounder looked set to rebuild the innings, scoring a brisk 26 off 17 balls, including five crisp boundaries.

However, his promising knock was cut short by Mitchell Santner, who once again got the better of Sundar. The dismissal itself was more about brilliance in the field than the delivery, as Naman Dhir pulled off a stunning catch near the boundary. Timing his leap perfectly in the deep, Dhir ensured Sundar’s departure, shifting momentum firmly in MI’s favour.

The pressure mounted as key players like Jos Buttler and captain Shubman Gill fell cheaply. Contributions from impact player Ashwani Kumar and debutant Krish Bhagat further strengthened MI’s grip, with skipper Hardik Pandya also chipping in with a crucial wicket.

Earlier in the match, Mumbai Indians had posted a competitive 199/5, thanks largely to a sensational century from Tilak Varma. Alongside him, Naman Dhir played a vital supporting role, scoring 45 off 32 balls and stabilising the innings after early setbacks. His knock, featuring six fours and a six, laid the platform for a strong finish.
Dhir’s all-round contribution — both with the bat and in the field — proved instrumental, as Mumbai Indians dominated proceedings and left Gujarat Titans struggling to recover in a one-sided contest.
