Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat, has reaffirmed the franchise’s commitment to playing an aggressive brand of cricket ahead of their IPL 2026 clash against the Gujarat Titans. As RCB continue to build momentum this season, Bobat made it clear that intent and fearlessness remain central to the team’s identity.

Speaking before the high-stakes encounter, Mo Bobat emphasised the importance of staying brave under pressure. RCB have consistently adopted an attacking approach this season, even when wickets have fallen in clusters. According to him, that mindset is non-negotiable.
“I want us to play aggressive cricket. I want us to be brave—especially when the game is on the line,” Mo Bobat said, highlighting the team’s philosophy of maintaining pressure across all phases of the game.

Under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, RCB have not only carried forward this approach but also executed it effectively. The captain has been instrumental in translating strategy into on-field decisions, guiding the team to a strong start this season with four wins in six matches. Bobat praised Patidar’s calmness, calling it one of his biggest strengths in high-pressure moments.
“Rajat is incredibly calm. Even when things get chaotic, he sticks to his plans and leads from the front,” Mo Bobat noted. He added that Patidar’s willingness to attack, both with the bat and in the field, aligns perfectly with RCB’s long-term vision of playing proactive, result-oriented cricket.

The conversation also touched upon the evolving nature of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium pitch. Traditionally known as a batting paradise, recent matches have seen more challenging surfaces, with totals of 149 and 175 indicating a shift in conditions. However, Bobat downplayed any concerns, stating that the team focuses more on adaptability than external factors.
“We don’t have control over the pitch preparation, but we feel we understand these conditions well enough. It doesn’t change how we prepare,” he explained.

This upcoming fixture also marks RCB’s final home game at the Chinnaswamy this season. The team will shift base for their remaining home matches to Nava Raipur International Cricket Stadium starting May 10. As the league enters a crucial phase, RCB will aim to carry their aggressive momentum forward and strengthen their push toward the playoffs.
