Punjab Kings pacer Arshdeep Singh cut a frustrated figure after a costly fielding error from Shashank Singh during Match 35 of IPL 2026 against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The moment unfolded in the third over when Arshdeep delivered a well-directed short ball to KL Rahul.

Shashank Singh has been fielding very poorly

Attempting a pull shot, KL Rahul mistimed it, sending the ball high towards deep square leg. It appeared to be a straightforward catching opportunity, with Shashank perfectly positioned near the boundary.

However, what should have been a routine dismissal turned into a major let-off. Shashank attempted a reverse-cup catch while backtracking, but the ball slipped through his hands at the last moment and raced away for a boundary. Arshdeep, who had already begun celebrating, was left stunned mid-pitch.

The reaction said everything. The PBKS pacer paused in disbelief before expressing visible frustration, knowing how crucial early breakthroughs can be in a high-scoring T20 contest. Dropped chances at this level often prove expensive, and this miss had the potential to shift momentum.

Even in the stands, the disappointment was evident, with Preity Zinta reacting to the missed opportunity. For Punjab Kings, it was a moment they would rather forget quickly, especially in a tightly contested clash where small errors can make a big difference.
