Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered a masterclass with the new ball as Royal Challengers Bengaluru rattled Delhi Capitals early in their IPL 2026 clash at Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 27. The experienced seamer set the tone by dismissing debutant Sahil Parakh for a two-ball duck with a stunning delivery.

Bhuvneshwar began with a teasing outswinger that induced an edge, though it safely dropped short of the fielder. He then produced a near-perfect inswinging yorker that swung late and crashed into the stumps, leaving the batter with no chance. It was a classic example of his skill and control in powerplay conditions.

The early breakthrough justified skipper Rajat Patidar’s decision to bowl first, as RCB quickly seized momentum. What followed was a dramatic collapse from DC, who lost six wickets for just eight runs in a stunning passage of play.

Bhuvneshwar continued to lead the charge, removing key batters including Tristan Stubbs and Axar Patel, while Josh Hazlewood provided excellent support from the other end. Hazlewood struck crucial blows by dismissing KL Rahul, Nitish Rana, and Sameer Rizvi, further denting DC’s innings.

The disciplined bowling display from RCB highlighted their dominance in the powerplay, putting them firmly in control of the match.
