Rajasthan Royals ended Punjab Kings’ unbeaten run in IPL 2026 with a strong six-wicket win at the PCA Stadium in Mullanpur on Tuesday. PBKS had put up a commanding 222/4, driven by half-centuries from Prabhsimran Singh and Marcus Stoinis, but RR chased down the target with four balls to spare, thanks to crucial fifties from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Donovan Ferreira.

Ferreira, who walked in when the pressure was building after Yuzvendra Chahal had hurt his former team with key wickets, played the perfect finishing role. The South African stayed calm and finished unbeaten on 52, ensuring Rajasthan collected all two points from a high-scoring contest.

“I think it was a good innings, just keeping my mind nice and clear, like when I was kid playing the toy truck,” he said. “Just kept a clear mind and played good cricket shots. I kept reminding myself that one good over is all we need, luckily it happened in Lockie’s over,” Donovan Ferreira added.

“You need to win games at the top of the table. It is a long tournament and different guys have to put their hands up, you can’t rely on the openers,” he said. “Shubham came out and played a good knock to take the pressure off me,” Ferreira added while praising the southpaw’s support.

Earlier, PBKS looked in control after Prabhsimran’s brisk 59 and Stoinis’ explosive, unbeaten 62 off 22 balls powered them to a big total. After Riyan Parag opted to field, PBKS made a fast start before Jofra Archer removed Priyansh Arya. Cooper Connolly’s quick 30 and Shreyas Iyer’s 30 helped Punjab stay on track, while Yash Raj Punja was RR’s best bowler with two wickets.

Rajasthan’s chase also got off to a flying start as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Jaiswal added 51 inside the powerplay. Even after Arshdeep Singh dismissed Sooryavanshi, Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel kept the chase moving.

Yuzvendra Chahal then shifted the momentum again by removing Jurel, Jaiswal and Parag in quick succession. But Ferreira and impact substitute Shubham Dubey rebuilt the innings with composure and control. Ferreira finished the job with an unbeaten fifty, while Dubey’s 31 not out sealed a memorable win for Rajasthan Royals.
