Royal Challengers Bengaluru have made the most of a rare mid-season break in IPL 2026, with the squad flying to the Maldives for a short getaway after a demanding run of fixtures. A video shared on social media captured the players departing together, using the seven-day window to recharge ahead of the business end of the tournament.

One notable absence from the travelling group is Phil Salt, who has missed the last three matches due to an unspecified injury. The explosive opener has been a key contributor this season, scoring 202 runs at an impressive strike rate of 168.33, including two half-centuries.

His standout knock—a match-winning 78 against the Mumbai Indians—earned him the Player of the Match award. In his absence, Jacob Bethell has stepped in at the top of the order, but he has failed to do much for the team so far.

Despite the recent setback against Gujarat Titans, where they were bowled out for 155 and lost by four wickets in Ahmedabad, RCB remain well-placed in the standings. Led by Rajat Patidar, the defending champions currently sit second on the points table with six wins from nine matches.

The break comes at a crucial time, allowing the team to reset both mentally and physically before the final stretch. RCB will resume their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium on May 7. With momentum still largely on their side, they will be aiming to return refreshed and push for a strong finish in IPL 2026.
