Former India cricketer turned veteran commentator Aakash Chopra has named five uncapped Indian pace bowlers from IPL 2026 who could play for India soon. He also added that he hasn’t chosen them in any particular order, and he also didn’t add Anshul Kamboj to the list, as he has already played for India in a Test. With 13 wickets at an economy rate of 9.73 in 6 innings, Kamboj is the current Purple Cap holder in IPL 2026 as well.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, ‘Aakash Chopra,’ he said, “Prince Yadav, how well he bowls. He has an upside. It’s about where he can reach. He is very good. He started doing well last year. He didn’t concede runs in a 250-run game. He picked up two wickets and conceded 25 runs in four overs (against Punjab Kings). He bowled the difficult overs in the Powerplay and at the death.”

“Second, I think about Vijaykumar Vyshak. Again, no one is talking about him. He had a hand in Punjab reaching the final. He has a hand in them being undefeated now because they play with only five bowlers, and the fifth bowler, Vijaykumar Vyshak, bowls the difficult overs. He bowls excellent wide yorkers and into-the-pitch slower ones,” he added.

“The third I am thinking about is Ashok Sharma. He bowls at a speed of 150 kph. Either you are a fast bowler, or you are a medium pacer. There is nothing in between. I have great confidence in him if he is groomed well. He is slightly raw at the moment, but a great amount of upside,” Chopra shared.

However, Aakash Chopra also said that the KKR’s Kartik Tyagi could play for India soon, considering his impressive performances in IPL 2026 as well.

“The fourth bowler I am thinking about is Kartik Tyagi. He has looked very impressive whenever he has come, but something was lacking every time. He used to be expensive at times and injured on other occasions. He has changed his action. He used to have shin splints earlier. He has got that cured. He has been very good and is bowling close to 150 kph, and is doing so for a side that does not have a great bowling unit,” he said.

“Another name is Rasikh Salam Dar. When a bowler like you becomes successful in the IPL, you need to be praised. He is short-statured, so he doesn’t get extra bounce, and he doesn’t have a pace of 150 kph as well. He doesn’t get to bowl where he can get the ball to swing. He bowls back-of-the-hand slower ones and yorkers, and his understanding is extremely impressive,” Aakash Chopra concluded.
