Vaping has once again become a talking point in IPL 2026 after another Indian cricketer was seen in a controversial clip. Just days after Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag was penalised by the BCCI for allegedly using an e-cigarette inside the dressing room, Punjab Kings spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has now found himself in a similar storm after a video surfaced online showing him vaping inside an aircraft.

The clip, which has gone viral on social media, is believed to be from one of Arshdeep Singh’s travel vlogs. In the footage, Arshdeep can be seen speaking with batter Suryansh Shedge, while Chahal, seated by the window beside teammate Shashank Singh, appears to conceal something in his hand before making a vaping gesture. A faint puff of smoke is then visible, followed by Chahal coughing, which immediately triggered debate online.

The video has led to widespread speculation, with fans questioning whether the veteran leg-spinner was indeed vaping. The timing of the clip has only added fuel to the discussion, given the recent disciplinary action taken against Riyan Parag over a separate vaping incident during the ongoing season.
Look at Yuzvendra Chahal, man. He was risking everyone’s safety by vaping an e-cigarette inside the flight while Shashank Singh and other Punjab Kings players were around him. 👀
This is totally unacceptable and highly risky for everyone. Such behavior violates flight safety… pic.twitter.com/YnXlPmPhjr

I don’t know in which direction today’s cricketers are heading. First, Riyan Parag and now Yuzvendra Chahal was allegedly caught ‘red-handed’ vaping/smoking. It’s becoming very unprofessional. 🤡pic.twitter.com/0u7DbWJFCi

The latest controversy has once again put player conduct and off-field discipline under the spotlight in Indian cricket. While the Board of Control for Cricket in India has not yet issued an official response to the Chahal video, the earlier Parag episode had already set a clear precedent.

Parag, who captains Rajasthan Royals, was reportedly seen using an e-cigarette during a match against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur. Following the incident, the 24-year-old was reprimanded and fined 25 per cent of his match fee by the BCCI and IPL Governing Council.
With two separate vaping-related incidents involving capped Indian players now drawing attention, the issue of discipline in the IPL has become a fresh talking point both on and off the field.
