KL Rahul has heaped praise on young Delhi Capitals batters Abishek Porel and Sahil Parakh, highlighting their fearless mindset and remarkable shot-making ability during IPL 2026. Rahul, who has been one of Delhi’s most consistent performers this season with 533 runs in 13 matches at an average of 44.42, believes the new generation of Indian batters is redefining T20 batting with their confidence and 360-degree range.
Speaking about Abishek Porel, Rahul was particularly impressed by the left-hander’s ability to attack from ball one without showing any signs of pressure, even against top-quality bowling attacks. According to Rahul, Porel possesses a rare skillset that allows him to access every area of the ground effortlessly.
“It’s his ability to hit sixes and access all parts of the ground. The new guys who are coming in, they are all 360-degree batters. Abhishek Porel can hit you over long-on for a six off the first ball, or he can scoop you over fine leg on the very first delivery,” KL Rahul said.

The senior Indian batter added that what makes youngsters like Porel special is not just the intent but their ability to execute difficult shots consistently in high-pressure IPL situations.
“One thing is to think about doing it. But the special thing about the new boys, especially Abhishek Porel, is that they can execute those shots in high-pressure games against good bowlers and strong teams,” he explained. KL Rahul also praised Porel’s fearless temperament, saying the youngster does not need time to settle before attacking bowlers. “He doesn’t need time to settle. He doesn’t fear the situation. He just sees the ball and goes after it. That kind of mindset is rare in a young player. He believes in his ability, and that is why he is succeeding,” Rahul added.
The Delhi Capitals opener also spoke highly of young batter Sahil Parakh, revealing that the teenager first caught his attention during the franchise’s pre-season training camp. Rahul recalled watching a practice clip in which Parakh effortlessly cleared the boundary repeatedly.
“I thought, ‘Who is this guy? When I saw him in person at the camp, he was even more impressive. Very dynamic,” KL Rahul said. Rahul compared Sahil to the fearless new generation of Indian batters, including Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre, who have already showcased their talent in IPL 2026.

According to Rahul, Sahil’s versatility and calmness under pressure make him a highly exciting prospect for the future. He pointed to one particular innings where Sahil was pushed down the order and still delivered an explosive finish for the Delhi Capitals.
“He scored 20 runs in the final over. The composure, the skill, and the ability to take on any bowler, pace or spin, was striking. He could hit the ball to any part of the ground. I hope that he gets a proper chance to show what he can really do,” KL Rahul concluded.
