Virat Kohli is once again proving why he remains one of the biggest stars in world cricket, delivering another sensational campaign for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026. The former RCB captain has combined consistency with aggression this season, scoring several match-winning knocks while leading his franchise’s batting charts.

Kohli began the tournament in dominant fashion and has continued to deliver under pressure. One of his standout performances came against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he smashed an unbeaten 69 off just 38 balls to guide RCB to a comfortable six-wicket victory. He followed it up with useful contributions against Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, maintaining his aggressive intent at the top of the order.
The veteran batter also produced a brilliant 81 off 44 balls against the Gujarat Titans, an innings that helped him claim the Orange Cap during the season. In that match, Kohli also became the first player in IPL history to complete 800 boundaries, further cementing his legendary status in the tournament.

Although he suffered disappointing ducks against Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians, Kohli responded in trademark fashion. He bounced back with a magnificent unbeaten 105 off 60 deliveries against Kolkata Knight Riders, registering his ninth IPL century and once again reminding everyone why he is called the “Run Machine.”
So far in IPL 2026, Kohli has amassed 542 runs in 13 innings at an impressive average of 54.20, including five half-centuries and one century. His consistency has played a massive role in RCB’s successful campaign and their push towards the playoffs.

Away from the field, Virat Kohli recently shared an emotional moment with his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma. During their meeting, the batting superstar touched his coach’s feet and thanked him for shaping his cricketing journey from a young age. “About twenty-five years ago, a man took a bet on a boy. My first coach, Rajkumar Sharma sir, taught me everything I know,” Kohli wrote on Instagram.

He also acknowledged the immense role Sharma played in his development as a cricketer. “Rajkumar Sharma Sir has been watching me since I was eight years old. Everything I know about batting and the game came from him. He is the reason I became the player I am today,” Kohli said.
Both Kohli and Sharma also expressed their deep admiration for red-ball cricket, calling Test cricket the purest and most meaningful format of the game.
