Rajasthan Royals wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel continued his outstanding IPL 2026 campaign with another explosive innings in the Eliminator against SunRisers Hyderabad at the New Chandigarh Stadium on Wednesday. The right-handed batter played a fearless knock under pressure, smashing a quickfire half-century before departing immediately after reaching the milestone.

Druv Jurel brought up his fifty in just 20 deliveries — his sixth half-century of the season — with a towering six off SRH pacer Praful Hinge during the 14th over. The delivery was a short ball outside off stump, and Jurel attempted a powerful cut shot towards backward point. Sakib Hussain got fingertips to the ball while leaping in the air, but the effort was not enough as the ball sailed over the boundary for six.

However, Praful Hinge responded brilliantly on the very next delivery. The SRH pacer once again banged the ball short, forcing Jurel into a mistimed shot towards deep square leg, where Nitish Kumar Reddy completed the catch to end a dangerous innings.

Jurel’s aggressive 50 off 21 balls added further momentum to Rajasthan Royals’ dominant batting display in the high-pressure knockout clash. The wicketkeeper-batter has now crossed the 500-run mark in IPL 2026, making him the franchise’s second-highest run-scorer behind teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

Sooryavanshi once again stole the spotlight with a breathtaking 97 off just 29 deliveries at a staggering strike rate of 334.48. The 15-year-old hammered 12 sixes and five boundaries while becoming the leading run-scorer of the season.

Yashasvi Jaiswal also played an important supporting role with 29 runs, while captain Riyan Parag chipped in with a rapid 26 off 12 balls before holing out to long-on.
