Former India player turned commentator, Aakash Chopra, has suggested two changes in the KKR’s playing combination for their IPL 2026 match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS). He added that the three-time champions should leave out Blessing Muzarabani, stating that he has proved quite expensive, and add Rovman Powell as the fourth overseas player.

Blessing Muzarabani

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, ‘Aakash Chopra,’ he said, “What will KKR have to do? They are standing next to CSK. You can lose three consecutive games. You don’t want to be in that position. I am thinking, it’s slightly radical, drop Blessing Muzarabani and play Rovman Powell, and you can play an Indian bowler, even if he is Umran Malik. Blessing Muzarabani is taking wickets, but he is conceding more than 10 runs per over.”

“In batting, I feel you should have one approach where everyone hits. Maybe you can compromise Anukul Roy and play Rovman Powell and Umran Malik. That’s the setup they might want to actually try. Anukul Roy might feel it’s slightly unfair, but I am wondering whether it is right to make Rovman Powell sit out. I feel Rovman Powell should be played,” he shared.

However, Aakash Chopra also questioned whether the Punjab Kings could add Harpreet Brar to their playing combination for their IPL 2026 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

“PBKS, nothing much to change. You have won the previous two matches. There is no problem. Everything is going fine, but can you bring in Harpreet Brar for KKR? It would be difficult for them to figure out how to bring in Harpreet Brar because who will they make sit out?” he said.

“Their team is going near perfect. It doesn’t seem right to make anyone sit out, but the opposing team has Finn Allen, Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi. So left-arm spin in the powerplay. Harsh Dubey did that, and you can also do it. You might play him in place of Xavier Bartlett. It can be considered. Just think whether there is a place for Harpreet Brar,” Chopra concluded.
