Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s incredible rise in IPL 2026 has completely captured the imagination of the cricketing world. The teenage Rajasthan Royals opener has become the biggest talking point of the season, with fans, former cricketers and even public figures left stunned by his fearless batting. However, it was his sensational innings against SunRisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator that truly elevated his status to another level.

The 15-year-old smashed a breathtaking 97 off just 29 balls, hammering 12 sixes and five boundaries in one of the most destructive playoff knocks in IPL history. Although he narrowly missed out on becoming the fastest centurion in IPL history, his innings helped Rajasthan Royals defeat SRH by 47 runs and secure a place in Qualifier 2 against Gujarat Titans.

Sooryavanshi’s fearless approach has earned admiration from all corners, including spiritual leader Sadhguru, who praised the youngster in a viral social media post.

Despite the hype surrounding his innings, Sooryavanshi remained grounded and insisted that personal milestones were never on his mind during the chase.

“I got to know after the game,” he said during the post-match presentation when asked about missing the record for the fastest IPL hundred. “My focus was on hitting a six and scoring maximum runs for the team. Centuries will come in the future,” he explained.

The Rajasthan Royals opener also shared a glimpse into his batting mindset, revealing that he prefers to keep things simple at the crease.

“I try to analyse the bowlers and understand the boundary dimensions. When I show positive intent, the bowler automatically comes under pressure,” Vaibhav Sooryavanshi said. With every innings, the RR youngster continues to establish himself as one of the brightest future stars in world cricket.
