Recognising the massive rush of cricket fans, Western Railway has announced two special superfast trains between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to accommodate supporters travelling for the IPL 2026 final. The decision comes amid unprecedented demand from fans eager to witness the championship showdown live from the stands.

The special train services were introduced after a sharp increase in ticket enquiries following the confirmation of the IPL final lineup. According to railway officials, bookings opened on May 30 and witnessed an overwhelming response almost immediately.

“Seeing the demand for the IPL final, we started these special trains. Ticket bookings began today and are selling rapidly, with occupancy already nearing full capacity. We continuously assess passenger demand and introduce special services whenever required, similar to what we do during holidays and festival periods,” said Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Vineet Abhishek.

For fans planning to enjoy the full match-day experience, the Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad AC Superfast Special offers a convenient option. The train departs Mumbai Central at 6:20 AM on Sunday and is scheduled to arrive in Ahmedabad at 12:40 PM, giving supporters ample time to reach the stadium and soak in the pre-match atmosphere.

Western Railway has also arranged a return service for fans looking to travel back immediately after the final. The Ahmedabad–Bandra Terminus Special will depart Ahmedabad at 3:50 AM on June 1 and reach Bandra by 12:15 PM, allowing supporters to return home comfortably after the celebrations conclude.
