Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL 2026 title celebrations produced plenty of memorable moments, but few generated as much buzz as the playful prank pulled by Tim David and Phil Salt on head coach Andy Flower. After RCB secured their second consecutive IPL crown on May 31, the two players decided to add some extra fun to the festivities by drenching Flower with a bucket of ice-cold water.

The video quickly went viral across social media platforms, with fans enjoying the light-hearted side of RCB’s dressing room. Many supporters even labelled David and Salt as the franchise’s most unpredictable duo, as the prank became one of the standout moments from the team’s championship celebrations.

The celebrations were well deserved after RCB delivered a dominant performance against the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Led by Rajat Patidar, Bengaluru outplayed Shubman Gill’s side in all departments. The bowlers restricted the Gujarat Titans to 155 runs before the batting unit comfortably completed the chase.

Virat Kohli once again rose to the occasion, remaining unbeaten on 75 and guiding RCB to victory with confidence. The former captain sealed the win in style, sparking emotional celebrations among players, support staff, and fans. Several members of the squad later credited the coaching group, particularly Andy Flower, for building a culture that has transformed RCB into one of the most consistent teams in the competition.

Since joining the franchise in August 2023, Flower has played a key role in reshaping the squad. His management team made several bold decisions, including backing experienced seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar alongside Josh Hazlewood and placing trust in Krunal Pandya’s evolution as a frontline spin option. Those strategic moves helped RCB dominate the league stages in both 2025 and 2026 before converting that success into back-to-back IPL titles.

However, the celebrations were accompanied by disappointing news for Tim David. The Australian all-rounder was handed a one-match suspension after breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the final. David was found guilty of throwing an ice bag towards umpire Nitin Menon during Gujarat Titans’ innings. As a result, he will miss Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s opening match of the IPL 2027 season despite playing a major role in the team’s title-winning campaign.
