For Lucknow Super Giants youngster Mukul Choudhary, IPL 2026 was about much more than impressive performances and newfound fame. The 21-year-old batter not only announced himself on the biggest T20 stage but also earned the opportunity to transform his family’s future. Choudhary emerged as one of the brightest young talents of the season, showcasing fearless intent and maturity beyond his years. His breakthrough moment came against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, where he played a sensational match-winning innings of 57 off just 27 balls.

Packed with seven towering sixes, the knock helped LSG complete a memorable chase and instantly put the youngster in the spotlight. While his exploits with the bat earned widespread praise, Choudhary revealed that his greatest satisfaction came away from the cricket field.
After being purchased by Lucknow Super Giants for INR 2.60 crore at the IPL 2026 auction, the young batter is now in a position to clear a long-standing bank loan that had burdened his family for years. Reflecting on his journey, Choudhary spoke about the sacrifices made by his family to support his cricketing ambitions.

Now, IPL success has changed everything. “Ab sab chuk jayega (Now all those debts will be cleared),” Mukul Choudhary said, expressing gratitude towards both the IPL and Lucknow Super Giants for providing him with the platform to make a meaningful difference in his family’s life.
The youngster also shared his views on the changing landscape of T20 cricket. According to him, the introduction of the Impact Player rule and deeper batting line-ups have completely transformed batting approaches. Modern-day batters are expected to attack from the moment they arrive at the crease, rather than spending time building an innings.
