A Royal Challengers Bengaluru fan turned heads during a 2026 FIFA World Cup match in Philadelphia by proudly waving an RCB jersey inside a packed stadium. The World Cup, which is being jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, provided the perfect global stage for a small but striking cricket crossover moment.

In the middle of the football frenzy, the supporter stood out by displaying a jersey carrying Virat Kohli’s name and number, a reminder of the superstar’s massive popularity far beyond the cricket field. The fan appeared thrilled as he held up the jersey, smiling widely while showing it off to fellow spectators and cameras.

With the back of the shirt clearly visible, the Kohli connection made the moment even more special for cricket followers, especially RCB fans who continue to celebrate one of the franchise’s most successful eras. The clip quickly captured attention because it showed how deeply the Bengaluru-based side has connected with supporters across sports and continents.

RCB’s presence in the sporting conversation has only grown stronger after a remarkable IPL 2026 campaign. The franchise dominated the league stage, finishing top of the table with nine wins and 18 points from 14 matches.

They carried that momentum into the playoffs, crushing Gujarat Titans by 92 runs in Qualifier 1 before meeting the same opposition again in the final in Ahmedabad. This time too, RCB were far superior, sealing a five-wicket win to lift the trophy in style.

That title came on the back of a historic breakthrough in 2025, when RCB finally ended a 17-year wait for an IPL crown by beating Punjab Kings in the final. Winning again in 2026 not only established them as back-to-back champions, but also placed them among an elite group in IPL history. They became only the third team to defend the title successfully, joining Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.

Rajat Patidar also entered a special captaincy club alongside MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, while RCB’s second trophy made them only the fourth IPL team to win multiple championships, after CSK, MI and Kolkata Knight Riders.
