24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic has once again spoken warmly about Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, saying he would love to share both a tennis court and a cricket field with him. Djokovic also revealed that the two sporting icons have been in touch and are discussing a possible meeting during his planned trip to India.
The Serbian tennis great and Kohli have built a friendly connection through Instagram messages, with both athletes expressing admiration for each other’s achievements over the years. Their online bond now appears to be nearing an in-person meeting, with Djokovic hinting that India could be on his travel list in the near future.
Speaking on the sidelines of Wimbledon 2026, Djokovic said he would be delighted if Kohli hosted him and showed him around India. He also praised the former India captain’s influence and popularity, calling him a global star and acknowledging the scale of his impact in Indian sport.

“I would love to play some cricket and tennis with Virat Kohli. I am planning to visit India in the near future and we have been communicating about it. I know Virat is a global star, but especially in India, he is incredible,” Novak Djokovic told JioStar. “I would love for him to be my host and show me around. I have a lot of respect for him and for Indian cricket. Cricket isn’t big in Serbia, where I come from. But some of the people in my team are British and they love cricket,” he added.

Djokovic, who is a seven-time Wimbledon champion, is now chasing an eighth title at the All England Club. He is set to face Felix Auger-Aliassime later on Tuesday in another major step in his bid to extend his remarkable legacy at Wimbledon.

“A lot of my legacy is built on what I have achieved here at Wimbledon,” Novak Djokovic said, adding that the tournament was the one he dreamed of winning as a child.
