Australian women’s cricket has found itself at the center of an unexpected off-field controversy after Monica Wright publicly accused her estranged wife, Ashleigh Gardner, of having an extramarital relationship with fellow Australian cricketer Georgia Voll. The allegations surfaced shortly after reports emerged that Gardner and Wright had separated, barely a year after the couple tied the knot in April 2025.

While neither Gardner nor Cricket Australia has commented on the matter, Wright took to her official Instagram account and shared a photo of Voll with a caption alleging that the Australian opener was involved in Gardner’s personal life.

“This is who my wife cheated on me with,” Wright wrote on her Instagram Story, bringing the private matter into the public spotlight.

Wright has been a familiar figure around the Australian women’s setup for several years, having been in a long-term relationship with Gardner before their marriage. According to reports, the couple’s relationship began to deteriorate during Australia’s campaign at the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup in India, eventually leading to their recent separation.

Several Australian teammates who know Wright personally have reportedly reached out to offer their support following the news. Gardner, however, has remained silent and has not issued any public statement regarding the allegations. The star all-rounder is currently believed to be in Europe after helping Australia win the Women’s T20 World Cup, where she served as the team’s co-vice-captain.

Wright’s Instagram post is the first public allegation linking Georgia Voll to the reported split, but the claims remain unverified. Neither Voll nor Gardner has responded publicly, and Cricket Australia has also refrained from commenting, describing the issue as a personal matter. With no official statements from those involved, further developments are awaited.
