India all-rounder Axar Patel has climbed into the top 10 of the latest ICC ODI all-rounders’ rankings following his outstanding performance in the first ODI against England at Edgbaston. The left-arm spinner moved up three places to ninth with 213 rating points, further cementing his reputation as one of India’s most valuable white-ball cricketers.

He first dismantled England’s batting lineup with impressive figures of 4/62, then delivered an unbeaten 57 off just 52 balls in the chase. His match-winning partnership with Washington Sundar guided India to the 259-run target with 28 balls to spare.
The all-round display also earned Axar significant gains across the ICC ODI rankings. He jumped 18 places to 73rd in the batting rankings and climbed two spots to 42nd among ODI bowlers. His steady rise reflects the growing importance of his all-round abilities in India’s limited-overs setup.
