Team India bowling coach Sunil Joshi said that leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has only made a tweak in his run-up to make sure that he does not get close to the return crease as well.He also added that both the team management and the bowler himself are satisfied with the adjustment as well. However, Bishnoi registered the figures of 0-60 against England in Manchester in the second T20I where he also bowled three backfoot no-balls and two of the free-hit deliveries were clobbered for sixes by Jacob Bethell. Bishnoi then made a strong comeback against Zimbabwe in Harare, registering economical figures of 1-24 from four overs, without any no-ball as well.
At a press conference ahead of the second India-Zimbabwe T20I, Joshi explained (via Rediff.com): “It’s important to understand that win was a must, which has happened and I’m very pleased with the bowling performances. Bishnoi hasn’t changed anything in his action. He has re-aligned the run-up a bit. We’ve also communicated with (spin bowling coach) Sairaj (Bahutule). So, we’ve had good conversations with him. Eventually, we’ve seen that he’s not even going close to the return crease, which is very pleasing for him, honestly, and for us also.”

However, the sixth bowler has been an issue for India in limited-overs matches. While Joshi was asked if the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Tilak and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi can be groomed for the role, to which he opined that it would be better to focus on Sooryavanshi’s batting for now.
Joshi added: “I think all three are good bowlers, all-rounders. Abhishek has improved a lot. The coaches always want him to improve every time. Harsh Dubey has also performed well. We also have Tilak Varma. In fact, he’s also another optional bowler. Let’s focus on his (Sooryavanshi) batting. He’s been sensational. This is a happy hunting ground for him. He performed well in the U19 World Cup finals. Vaibhav has been very comfortable with his batting. Whenever we get time we’ll work with him in the BCCI Centre of Excellence.”
