India captain Shubman Gill has climbed to the top of the latest ICC ODI batting rankings, reclaiming the No. 1 position after an impressive series against England. The 26-year-old opener, who struck two half-centuries during India’s three-match ODI series earlier this month, moved up one place to overtake New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell.

Gill now leads the rankings with 801 rating points, while Mitchell occupies second place with 794 points. India’s batting dominance is further highlighted by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who continue to hold the third and fourth spots with 767 and 758 rating points, respectively.

The latest ICC rankings also brought encouraging news for teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The 15-year-old left-hander enjoyed a dream T20I series against Zimbabwe, scoring two half-centuries in three matches and finishing as the Player of the Series. His outstanding performances earned him a remarkable jump of 230 places, taking him to 48th in the ICC T20I batting rankings with 536 rating points.

While Sooryavanshi surged up the rankings, Abhishek Sharma slipped after a disappointing series in Zimbabwe. The opener managed scores of just 1, 8 and 2, resulting in a one-place drop to third in the T20I batting rankings with 819 rating points. Meanwhile, India’s vice-captain Tilak Varma climbed two places to sixth after his unbeaten 60 off 29 balls in the second T20I showcased his finishing ability.

The ICC Test rankings also witnessed significant movement following the opening Test between West Indies and Pakistan. Pakistan captain Babar Azam climbed four places in the Test batting rankings after producing a fighting unbeaten half-century in the second innings despite his team’s defeat.

Among the bowlers, Pakistan seamer Mohammad Abbas enjoyed one of the biggest gains after his outstanding eight-wicket match haul, including a five-wicket haul in the second innings. The experienced pacer jumped nine places to 17th in the ICC Test bowling rankings.

West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales, who claimed a match-winning five-wicket haul to help his side register a 90-run victory, also made significant progress by climbing five places to 24th. However, fellow Caribbean pacer Shamar Joseph slipped six positions to 20th despite contributing to the win.

In the ICC T20I bowling rankings, India’s leading pace attack witnessed a slight decline. Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh dropped three, five and eight places, respectively. Zimbabwe speedster Blessing Muzarabani, meanwhile, continued his rise after an impressive home series against India, moving up 10 spots to 26th in the latest T20I bowling rankings.
