Former India player turned commentator Aakash Chopra has opined that KKR might be interested in acquiring Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sam Curran from RR ahead of the IPL 2027 auction as well. He also added that KKR might consider trading Rinku Singh to the inaugural IPL champions in such a scenario as well. KKR, who finished seventh in IPL 2026, might be keen to acquire openers and all-rounders ahead of the next season as well. RR, who were knocked out by GT in the Eliminator this season, might want to strengthen their lower-middle order ahead of IPL 2027 as well.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, ‘Aakash Chopra,’ he said, “Can they ask for anyone from Rajasthan? They can take Yashasvi and ask for Sam Curran with him. In exchange, they don’t have much to give them. Varun Chakaravarthy seems like a logical choice. Harshit Rana is always going to be a logical choice, although their bowling will become extremely weak if they give both Harshit and Varun or even one of them. Maybe you can give Rinku, as you (RR) have a slight lower-order problem. They won’t let Sunil Narine go, although anyone would take Sunil Narine.”

However, Aakash Chopra also added that KKR might be keen to acquire Ishan Kishan from the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), highlighting that the wicketkeeper-batter comes from the same zone as well.

“Ishan Kishan – wicketkeeper-batter, opener, future captain. One guy fits all their things. He comes from East Zone as well. Could be a long-term investment. However, Hyderabad won’t let him go. There is no chance that it would happen. Who can they give in exchange? They (SRH) don’t have spin. So, actually, Varun Chakaravarthy could be a great fit. You can take Anukul Roy with Varun. You can think about Ramandeep Singh if you want a batter lower down the order. You can offer them something, but Hyderabad won’t make up their mind to let Ishan Kishan go,” Aakash Chopra concluded.
