India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has sought the intervention of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami after facing difficulties in acquiring land in his native state. Pant, who hails from Uttarakhand, took to social media late at night to describe his prolonged efforts to find suitable land and expressed his desire to shift his base from Delhi back to his “motherland”.
Pant tagged Chief Minister Dhami in his post on X, formerly known as Twitter, and requested assistance with the land acquisition process. The India star also claimed that he had previously been promised land while promoting Uttarakhand, but said that the matter had remained unresolved for nearly three years.
Responding to Rishabh Pant, Dhami praised the cricketer for bringing recognition to the state through his performances and said his desire to return and contribute to Uttarakhand was commendable.

The Chief Minister assured Pant that the concerned authorities had been instructed to look into the matter and would contact him soon. He also made it clear that all possible assistance would be provided in accordance with the applicable rules and procedures.

Pant, who represents Delhi in domestic cricket, revealed that he has been trying to move his base from the national capital to Uttarakhand. The 28-year-old said he wanted to build a home in his native state and eventually contribute to the development of the region.

In another post, Pant clarified that he was not seeking a free gift of land. Instead, he expressed his willingness to purchase land from the government at the applicable government rates so that he could build his first house in Uttarakhand.
The wicketkeeper-batter also highlighted his emotional connection with the state and his wish to return to his roots. Pant has frequently spoken about his connection with Uttarakhand, and his latest posts underline his long-term desire to settle closer to his native place.

The development comes at a busy period in Pant’s cricket career. He is currently part of the Indian squad in Sri Lanka for the upcoming two-match Test series, which begins on August 15.

Away from cricket, however, his public appeal for help with land acquisition has drawn considerable attention, with Dhami’s response potentially paving the way for the long-pending matter to be addressed.
