Ravindra Jadeja scripted another memorable chapter in his Test career on Day 3 of the first Test against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Cricket Stadium. The India all-rounder picked up two wickets to complete 350 Test wickets and joined an elite group of cricketers to have scored at least 4,000 runs and taken 350 wickets in the longest format.

Jadeja reached the landmark by dismissing Sri Lankan batters Dhananjaya de Silva and Keshara Nuwantha during the hosts’ first innings. He had earlier contributed 13 runs with the bat as India posted a commanding 462. With 350 Test wickets to his name, Jadeja became only the fifth Indian bowler to reach the milestone. He joined Anil Kumble (619), Ravichandran Ashwin (537), Kapil Dev (434) and Harbhajan Singh (417) in the exclusive club.
The left-arm spinner has also achieved a rare all-round milestone. Jadeja now has more than 4,000 Test runs, with his tally standing at 4,108, alongside his 350 wickets. Only three other cricketers had previously reached the 4,000-run and 350-wicket double in Test cricket: India’s Kapil Dev, England’s Ian Botham, and New Zealand’s Daniel Vettori.

Jadeja’s achievement is particularly significant because he is the only player among the four to reach the landmark before playing 100 Tests. His consistency with both bat and ball has made him one of India’s most valuable Test cricketers.
The milestone also highlights Jadeja’s unique status as an Indian spin-bowling all-rounder. His ability to contribute heavily in both departments has helped him carve out a special place in Test cricket history.
