Team India player Sai Sudharsan recently commented on playing under head coach Gautam Gambhir. He stated that while Gambhir was very strict, he gives unwavering support to the players. The youngster also stated that Gambhir gives everyone a lot of freedom as well. He again mentioned that Gambhir motivated him when he came into the side, making him feel that he belonged at the highest level as well.

Sai Sudharsan said during an interview with Mashable India: “He is definitely strict, but I feel he backs the players very well. He gives them that level of support and freedom. Once he came and spoke to me something very similar to this, just express yourself, giving me the sense of freedom. He just gave me that sense of feel that you belong here.”

During the interview, the host also asked Sai Sudharsan why Gautam Gambhir appeared to be serious most of the time. He added that Gambhir is very passionate about winning, which is why he looks very focused during the matches as well.

“GG sir is just a very patriotic person, a very intense person. I think it’s because of that. If he wants to win the game, he is all intense. It’s just the way of him showing his intensity out,” Sai Sudharsan concluded.
