England’s pace attack produced a sensational performance in the second Test against Pakistan at Lord’s, reducing the visitors to just 110 in their first innings on August 28, 2026. “If someone is feeling tired you can just tell Rooty (England captain Joe Root) and get swapped out. You get fresh, then you come back again. You don’t have to do too much because someone is going to back you up until you find your feet again,” he added.

Archer regularly touched 92 mph during his spell and occasionally reached 94 mph, underlining his threat with the red ball. However, the pacer jokingly questioned the accuracy of the speed gun after seeing some impressive readings.

“Nah, the speed gun isn’t working properly. I saw some of them as I went back, it was nice to see but I’ve had times where I’ve felt better and never really had the speeds to show for it. I don’t know who is up in the box working it but thanks, I’ll take it,” Jofra Archer said.

England entered the second Test with a 1-0 series lead after their emphatic innings-and-103-run victory at Headingley.
