Veteran India batter Hanuma Vihari commented on two big call-ups for the upcoming U-19 series against Australia. The Blue Colts will host Australia U-19 at home for three one-day and two multi-day games as well. Former cricketer Virender Sehwag’s son Aaryavir Sehwag and Rahul Dravid’s son Anvay Dravid have been added to the one-day squad. Vihari said that there would be immense pressure on them, given the surname they carry. He also added that sons of former cricketers have historically failed to do well so far, such as Rohan Gavaskar and Arjun Tendulkar.

“Two famous surnames are there in the India U-19 team. Hopefully, the pressure will not come on them. We have seen in the past how sons of these names did not make it to the next level despite being good cricketers, like Rohan Gavaskar and Arjun Tendulkar. With the tag and surname comes a lot of pressure,” he said in a video on his YouTube channel.

Talking again about Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid, Hanuma Vihari added that both are talented batters who have performed well so far as well. During the Cooch Behar Trophy in 2024, Aaryavir made 297 against Meghalaya. He is currently playing in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026. Meanwhile, Anvay has been in good form as well, scoring 87 runs against Sri Lanka U-19 in a recent youth ODI as well.

“Aaryavir has been doing well in the U-19 levels. He is a very attacking player just like his father. Hopefully, he does well. Dravid’s son is also a very very good cricketer and has already played for India U-19 with good scores. The captain, Lakshay, is a very good cricketer as well. I hope they do well. All the players in the squad are future superstars,” Vihari said.
