Star Indian batter Mayank Agarwal has signed a short-term deal with Durham, which means he is available for the final four County Championship fixtures of the season as well. Agarwal, who has a double century in Test cricket, has played 21 times for India in the Test format, apart from playing five ODIs.

While he last played for India more than four years ago, he continues to play for his domestic side Karnataka in first-class cricket as well. Agarwal was also part of RCB’s victorious XI in last year’s IPL final as well.

Around the same time last year, Mayank Agarwal played for Yorkshire for his maiden county stint, playing three games. Even though he registered a couple of ducks in his first three innings, he bowed out in style by smashing 175 against his current team, Durham as well.

Mayank is a hugely talented batter who has a superb first-class record, we look forward to him contributing to Durham as we look to secure our return to Division One of the County Championship.”
