Trott was a South African-born cricketer, who went on to play for England. He announced his retirement at the age of 32. However, he came back to play against West Indies after one and a half year that too just to call it a day again. At one point in time, Trott was the most reliable batsman for England before stress took the better of him.

Trott’s phenomenal records, speak for himself. He had played 52 Tests and 68 ODIs and managed to score as much as 3835 and 2819 runs at a tremendous average of 44.08 and 51.25 respectively. One can easily guess that he should have considered playing for at least couple more seasons for England.
